This is a 1/1 mint special "20 year retrospective" NFT edition of "diffuse" by chiptune artist beek. This vintage piece of computer art history comes via the obscure PC Demoscene of the late 20th century. This piece was created June 4, 2000 during a 60-minute competition hosted on the text-based internet chat platform, IRC. It was composed using a PC based music creation application called Impulse Tracker with a pre-selected set of samples (called the sample pack) which contestants all had to use for their time-constrained composition. About the author: beek's computer music origins began in the mid 1990's with a PC, a soundcard and the DOS-based composition tool, Impulse Tracker. This path would lead him to compose several videogame soundtracks for the GameBoy, GameBoy Color as well as modern PC/Steam and smartphone platforms, along with hundreds of non-videogame tracked "chiptunes" or "mod files". Though there are between 200-300 beek songs to date, the majority dating from his teenage years, beek's officially released canon can be found on bandcamp (b-e-e-k.bandcamp.com) and consists of 5 official releases.
